Champagne Fleury Rose de Saignee Extra Brut NV
Bucking the traditional Champagne technique of adding still red wine to a blend in order to make a rosé, Fleury produces a pure saignée of Pinot Noir, always from a single vintage but not indicated as such on the label. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this release—entirely from the 2018 harvest—was bottled in July 2019 and disgorged in January 2023 with 3.4 grams per liter of dosage. Balancing measured vinosity with exuberant freshness, the Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut spotlights the lip-smacking nature of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar in its salinity and its dynamic juiciness.
