The Barbera, which forms the backbone of the blend is sourced from a high-altitude site that provides a natural lofty acidity. Alex and Elena harvest at full phenolic maturity and retain the brightness a great sparkling wine demands. The Nebbiolo and Freisa, from Brovia’s vineyards, ground the wine in their specific zone’s expressiveness. Historically speaking, Langhe Freisa was a light and spritzy wine frequently prone to fermentation in bottle, and “Anterse” nods to that tradition in elegant fashion.
