Champagne Fleury 'Fleur de L'Europe' Brut Nature NV
Fleury’s second most important cuvée in terms of production, “Fleur d’Europe”—developed around the outset of the European Union and named in its honor—blends 85% Pinot Noir (partly from the 2006-founded perpetual reserve) with 15% Chardonnay and spends longer on its lees than the Blanc de Noirs. The current disgorgement is based on the 2017 harvest, with the perpetual reserve of Pinot Noir accounting for 40% of the final blend; it was bottled for secondary fermentation in July 2018 and disgorged in July 2023 with no dosage. This gorgeous Champagne is broader and more overtly pastry-like than the Blanc de Noirs, with an expansive, mineral-saturated palate of notable cling.
