Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Meursault 2021
The estate’s meager yields in 2021—comprising a 70% loss in Chardonnay—forced Francois to trim down his arsenal of white wines; this village-level Meursault, then, represents a combination of fruit from Les Corbins and Clos du Cromin (historically bottled as separate cuvées), with declassified fruit from premier-cru Les Santenots (also typically bottled on its own in miniscule quantities). Raised in 20% new barerls, the 2021 Meursault displays fantastic equilibrium, reflecting the linear and chiseled nature of the vintage but with plenty of heft to its fruit and admirable concentration.
