Michel Gahier Arbois Blanc 'Lou' 2022 (pre-arrival)

“Lou” is a new cuvée for Michel as of 2020, named after his brother Louis who passed away that year. Produced from a 45-year-old parcel in Montigny-lès-Arsures of nearly entirely Chardonnay with a touch of Savagnin, it spends one full year in demi-muids and is kept topped up during the élevage. “Lou” displays a similar freshness and drive to the identically aged “Les Follasses” above, but offers a greater sense of heft and lurking mineral intensity—likely due to the presence of the ever-powerful Savagnin in the blend.
