Sourced from a partly terraced one-hectare parcel in the commune of Vérin, just two kilometers from Condrieu proper, Xavier’s Viognier is a well-balanced wine that illustrates his skilled lightness of touch with this notoriously finicky variety. Aged in large, neutral foudre for ten months, it emphasizes varietal purity over élevage, and finishes with an impression of clean, vibrant acidity. As with his Condrieu, he harvests this vineyard in two passes—one on the early side for acidity, and a second around ten days later for texture.
